Make a Dovetailed & Inlaid Box with Steve Latta

In this new class students will get the chance to learn a lot of new skills all packed into one weekend. The small mahogany box we will be making will feature dovetails, and floating raised panel top, some string inlay decoration and setting hinges. This is a great chance to learn a unique (and quick!) way of cutting dovetails- 1/2 on the tablesaw and 1/2 by hand. They come out great every time. Maybe you have been unsure how to go about adding a raised panel to a small box lid like this or have been intriqued with the idea of adding a simple "stinging" decoartion to your work. Here is your chance. If you have made some inlays in the past, a shaded fan or a marquetry paterae, then this would be a perfect place to use it.
