She will go through the best techniques of carving with the grain, how to sharpen tools to a razor sharp edge, how to lower down the background, and how to carve floral designs in relief. The techniques you learn in this 2 day class will help start you on your woodcarving journey - whether you are wanting to carve sculptural pieces, furniture, or architectural details. Mary will show how to get the best use out of a small set of gouges by teaching tricks and techniques of making the gouges work as efficiently as possible - and also how to do "creative re-design" if mistakes happen.
