Build a Floating Top Accent Table with Mike Pekovich
Here's a versatile little table with some funky, fun joinery going on. Over the span of two weekends, we'll try our hand at bridle joints, through-mortise-and tenons and sliding dovetails. Then we'll hold everything together with drawbore pins and top it all off by wrapping the side rails with hemp cord. There's a lot going on in a small package, and you'll walk away with not just a nice table, but a whole tool kit of design details that you can throw at other projects as well.
In quarter sawn white oak, the design has an Oriental, Arts & Crafts and rustic feel to it and can fit just about anywhere and will make a welcome addition to any room. Mike Pekovich is the Executive Art Director at Fine Woodworking Magazine and is an accomplished furniture maker and instructor. His original designs are both inspiring and elegant in their simplicity. Sign up today. Space is limited. Tuition: $495.00 plus materials
